Safe as Houses
May 26, 2023Clarke Infinity is well known for its work with high-profile clients over the years, building a reputation for providing the highest standards in luxury AV solutions alongside discreet and professional customer service.
So when Clarke Infinity was asked to work on a brand new project at the home of Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan, the team knew exactly what would be required. In fact, years before, Simon Clarke had completed an AV installation for Mark’s dad.
The challenge on this latest project was to bring Mark and Michelle’s dream of a unique, luxurious and cosy home, capable of affording exactly the right ambiance for both a quiet night in in front of a movie and a fun-filled night of glamourous entertaining, as well as anything in between.
At the heart of making this dream become a reality was a fully integrated and automated smart home, security and entertainment system, designed and installed by the Clarke Infinity team.
To maximise the stunning open vistas seen from the main living areas, Clarke Infinity installed Lutron blinds. These automated blinds open and close at the touch of a button to provide the perfect privacy and security, partnering ground-breaking technology with high-end design. The blinds are virtually silent in operation and give the impression of simply ‘floating’ up and down. They are also controllable via an app, control keypad or even voice control, giving Mark and Michelle the opportunity to create the mood they want quickly and simply.
The blinds operate in sync with Lutron’s Lighting QSX system, which features pre-programme settings offering completely bespoke control, from ‘All Off’ at the end of the night to ‘Welcome Home’ that sets the lighting and blinds exactly to your preference as you open the front door.
Masterminded by Lutron Alisse Wall Control Switches, the system installed by Clarke Infinity also includes wall control switches with tailor-made buttons configured with custom engravings for personalised light control.
The Clarke Infinity team designed the whole home system individually to Mark and Michelle’s needs, including a comprehensive security setup that makes the couple feel secure whether they are at home or away and incorporates remote access cameras and lighting. Add to this an automated entertainment system featuring both Bowers & Wilkins and Triad speakers, Control4 Touch Panels and Neeo Remotes, Samsung LED TVs and Ruckus Wireless Access Points, to name but a few elements.
Mark explains: “When Simon came to me to tell me I needed a lighting design I thought to myself, what are you talking about? Now, I know. It has just been incredible. The lighting controls are simply the best thing in the house. I love the Homely button. Simon said to me to choose a name that meant something to both Michelle and I, and that word is engraved on the switch, so with the press of one button we get the home’s settings exactly as we want them. It’s a game-changer!”
Ultimately the project has delivered the perfect balance in atmospheric interiors, lighting, entertainment, security and interactivity, making this dream house a real joy to live in.
